Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a boxing round?
Professional boxing rounds are 3 minutes with 1 minute rest. Amateur boxing uses 3 minutes for men and 2 minutes for women. Most boxing fitness classes use 3-minute rounds with 1 minute rest. This timer supports custom round lengths from 1 to 5 minutes.
How many rounds should I train?
Beginners start with 3-6 rounds. Intermediate fighters train 6-10 rounds. Advanced fighters may do 12-15 rounds. For conditioning, 6-8 rounds of 3 minutes is a solid session. For skill work, fewer rounds at higher intensity is more effective. Use the preset buttons above to match your training format.
What is the warning bell?
The warning bell rings 10 seconds before each round ends, signalling that the round is nearly over. This timer plays a warning bell at the 10-second mark and changes the display colour from white to yellow. The full bell rings at the end of the round and again at the end of each rest period.
Does this work for MMA training?
Yes — use the MMA preset (5 rounds × 3 minutes) or customise to match UFC rules (5 rounds for title fights, 3 rounds for regular bouts). The timer works for any combat sport or interval training format including kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling and grappling.
